A customer sent us the following picture and asked us to duplicate the engagement ring for a 2 carat oval diamond he purchased from us. Halo rings are best when custom designed in order to match the outline of diamond and to minimize spaces between the diamond and the halo.

The customer added a request that made the project particularly challenging. Typically halo rings have "shoulders" under the halo to support both the halo and the center stone, but the customer wanted a ring without shoulders. This meant coming up with an innovative design to remove the shoulders but still provide critical support to hold the 2 carat oval diamond. To solve the problem our designers created flared arches under the halo, and as an added touch we lined the arches with pave diamonds. Below are the digital renderings of the engagement ring:
After seeing the initial rendering the customer decided he preferred having shoulders so we added them back in.
After the customer approved the design we cast the ring and applied finishing touches by hand to make it look exactly like the original picture. Check out the finished engagement ring below:
